Pick3 Basic Info
The Pick3 lottery is drawn each night at 9:10 Central Time, seven days a week. The drawing is broadcast on KOKH and KOCB in Oklahoma City.
Pick3 consists of three balls numbered 0 - 9. The odds of any single Pick3 play being an exact match to the three balls drawn are 1 in 1,000. This is called a ’straight match’ play type and pays a $500 jackpot for all three numbers correct and in the correct order.
There are a total of four ‘play types’ with Pick3. In addition to the ’straight match’ there are ‘boxed’, ‘front pair’ and ‘back pair’ play types.
The ‘boxed’ play type involves getting the numbers correct but does not require they be in the correct order. A win with a ‘boxed’ play type pays either $160 or $80, depending upon the numbers played/drawn. The odds on ‘boxed’ are 3 in 1,000 or 6 in 1,000 depending upon the numbers played/drawn.
‘Front pair’ and ‘back pair’ play types work the same but from opposite ends of the three place number and require getting either the first two numbers correct and in the correct order (front pair) or the last two numbers correct and in the correct order (back pair). A win with the play type of either ‘front pair’ or ‘back pair’ pays $50. The odds with either ‘front pair’ or ‘back pair’ are 1 in 100.
In order to play Pick3 the player must select at least one of these four ‘play types’. Each set of numbers played costs $1. If the player wishes to select more than one ‘play type’ with their pick there is an additional $1 for each additional ‘play type’ selected. All four ‘play types’ may be selected with any Pick3 number in which case it costs $4 to play that one pick.
The playslip used with Pick3 accomodates up to a total of five picks. Each pick may be made with a maximum of four play types. Pick3 players may select their own numbers or have them computer generated. The Pick3 playslip can accomodate up to seven draws, therefore an entire week of picks can be made using a single playslip.
