There was no Powerball jackpot winner in Oklahoma during August 2007 however there was one really big winner. Nita Jacobs, a retired horse trainer from Sallisaw, OK won $600,000 in the August 25th Powerball drawing. Undoubtedly the higher average wins in August for both Cash 5 and Pick 3 can in part be attributed to “Powerball Fever”, as throughout the month of August the Powerball jackpot crept up through the $200 million range and into the $300 million range. When the Powerball jackpot gets that big sales of tickets for all lottery games increases and as ticket sales increase so do the number of winners and with that the increased nightly averages.
